This is my first completed knitting project using DPN's, yes I said it, DPN's. I have been so afraid of these and would not use a pattern that required their usage. I finally became brave and did this one all by myself. I figured it out and faced my fear head on, so to speak! I am so so excited. I am currently working on a pair of baby leg warmers using DPN's, I am now addicted to them.

The pattern is from "60 Quick Baby Knits" from Cascade Yarns, such a great book!

Crocheted Dress and Sweater with Matching Hat

I am expecting my first Granddaughter in January and I have been so busy crocheting and knitting. These are two of many items that I have made for her.
The dress is a pattern from Bella Bambino and the sweater and matching hat is a pattern that my knitting teacher gave me. Thanks Carmen you are the best!

I started this sweater last spring and finally finished knitting it and I sewed it together today, yes the hottest day of the June. I still need to finish the neck. I am very proud of myself as this is the first item that I actually knitted for an adult. Thanks to my teacher who taught me a few years ago the love of knitting.

This is a cute hat from a book I purchased at the Borders in Garden State Plaza Mall that is closing. Yes, a bargain. The book is called Wacky Knits. The hat is being modeled by the doll "Baby Alive". My daughter used to have one of these dolls. Doll is cute, you can actually feed her and then change her diaper.

Stephanie, Kyle and his parents, Maryann and Dean joined me in watching the Air Show at my condo. It was the Air Show's 100th Anniversary and 750,000 people attended. It was also Kyles birthday so it was a double celebration. My husband was at work so I took pictures to share with him. :-( David was missed!

Saturday, June 12th my daughter Stephanie and I went to the Barnes and Noble in East Brunswick to attend the Book Signing of Teresa, the Italian housewife that appears on The Housewives of NJ. She was so sincere, kind and REAL. She signed my book and my daughters, carried conversation, and took pictures with us. It was a great experience. She also puts her family first which I feel is most important and which makes me appreciate her presence on the show as a good role model for everyone.

I have been obsessed with making these pom pom scarves. They are fast and fun. I used the Pomp a Doodle yarn from Red Heart for the Black and White (Night and Day) Scarf. This yarn is so so soft.

The purple and blue scarf, I used the mini pom pom yarn from Herrschners Yarn shop online. As you can see in the background is my bear collection.

This post has nothing to do with knitting but I wanted to share. There is a center in Hackensack called "Hope Center". At this center there are young adults who don't have parents and the organization that I joined provides them with a cake for their birthday. This is a pic of the cake that I make for Jason's 10th birthday and the theme he picked was Power Rangers. I have never met Jason and my wish for him is that he loves his birthday cake.

Fall Pom Pom Parade

This is going to become a really nice wide and long shawl. I purchased this gorgeous yarn at Connie Sloan's in Upper Montclair. The owner was so sweet and helpful. The yarn is Cherry Tree Hill, Jumbo Loop Mohair Boucle in Cabin Fever and African Grey. The close up pic shows how beautiful the jumbo loops are. Will keep you updated on this awesome shawl.

This is a baby dress or a Toddler Tank. It starts off with a Seed Stitch, then a diamond pattern, ends with a Stitch Seed. Instead of putting an I-cord on the yoke I crocheted the yoke. This is my first baby/toddler crocheted dress/tank.

I found these beautiful knitting items under my Christmas Tree. Santa a/k/a my daughter Stephanie bought these for me. The multi use Trifold Case will hold all of my knitting needles and crochet needles. The Susan Bates bag will hold my circulars and my "Knit" ( a pesonal handbook) will allow me to document my projects. I am so excited and cannot wait to organize my knitting accessories and looking forward to logging in my projects in my journal.

A Scarf With Buttons!!!!!

This is my first scarf that I designed myself. I simply knitted the scarf to the width and length that I wanted. I casted on 15 stitches and just knitted until it reached the length that I needed. I added buttons to the edges of the scarf to give it a different look. It looked very plain without the buttons. I used Shale, Loop-d-Loop yarn, color 006.

My summer vacation, 2008

I spent over a month down Atlantic City at my condo. It was a very nice and relaxing vacation. I would get up in the morning and attend the water aerobics at the pool. I could really get used to that every day!!! My husband and I had a great time and my daughter joined us after her fiance went back to CA to complete his training for Iraq so its been great.
A view of the ocean from my balcony while I sat in my recliner knitting away and a Dunkin Donut Decaf Iced Coffee nearby just completed me. You just cannot get any better than this. I have seen a few shows, played some poker, found a new slot machine that is now my favorite "The Dean Martin Party", its a penny machine :-). I rode my scooter on the boardwalk in Atlantic City and Stone Harbor. I spent an additional week down AC just me and my daughter and we did lots of "girl" things. I rode my scooter and went shopping at the Pier Shops at Caesor and of course we shopped at "The Walk"(outlet stores). It was great being able to sit in my scooter and shop. We also did a day at the Spa Tocare in Borgata.
We layed by the pool at the Borgata before our facials and then had a nice dinner at one of the restaurants at the Borgata. It was so relaxing and special.....a nice day of pampering was a great way to end our grand vacation.
My daughter and I visited many places to have her wedding reception and when we walked into "The Rams Head Inn" we knew it was the place. This is all very exciting!!!!
Before I left for vacation in July I went on Rivelry and found a knitting group that meets every Tuesday evening at Borders near the Hamilton Mall. They can be found on the Rivelry site under Atlantic County Knit Night and call themselves "NOBB". I knew how much I would miss my knitting group while on vacation, "The Chalk Dust Knitters", and I knew that I needed something to fill the void of my knitting group until I returned back to north jersey. I went the first Tuesday night in July . I sent my husband in to Borders to peek in and look for any knitters and low and behold they were sitting in a corner knitting so I went in and introduced myself. My daughter and I have been going to the knitting group for the past two weeks but miss OUR group greatly.
I have uploaded some vacations pictures to share including my husband waving from the balcony of my condo, a view of the ocean from my condo and I also included some picutes of a High Tea that my daughter and I attended in Mays Landing. What a cute little Tea Shop called "A Victorian Tea House". Stephanie and I enjoyed the "high tea" and the owner explained the history of tea and it was very interesting.
I also added a picture of my special boy Pepe,,,,he is the cutest!!!!!

My scarf has a hole in it!

I found this pattern on DIY Network and I just had to make one. I ALWAYS lose my scarf so this is the perect scarf for a clumsy person like myself BUT I am making this scarf for my daughter. I bought the yarn at Stix and it is beautiful yarn. What a great yarn store!! The project went quickly and I finished it in less than two weeks. I cannot believe that I have only been knitting for a few months and have completed a few projects. Knitting is the greatest!!
